Proceedings in international scientific journals

The organising committee and scientific committe are in contact with editors of international scientific journals on applied ecology, restoration ecology and ecological engineering to have the opportunities to publish several special issues after the congress. More than the extended abstract for the SER Europe Knowledge Base on Ecological Restoration in Europe ; all the participants who have realised a presentation during the 7th SER European Conference ion Ecological restoration in Avignon (plenary sessions, special sessions, parallel sessions, workshops or posters) will have the possibility to publish one or more papers in the journals listed below. Each journal will have his own instructions to authors and his own topics to accept the different proposals. Each special issue will have an associate editor from the SER 2010 scientific committee that can be contacted for more informations.

More details about special issues (instructions to authors, deadline for submission) will appear regularly on this Webpage and will be given during the congress.

Applied Vegetation Science

"Species introduction - a major topic in vegetation restoration"

Applied Vegetation Science is a journal which includes any community-level topic relevant to human impact on vegetation, including restoration of plant communities and of the habitats of threatened plant species. It already published  19 papers in a special feature in December 2003, results from the Third European Conference on Restoration Ecology held in Budapest, Hungary 25-31 August 2002. As we expect numerous highly relevant contributions in the field of applied vegetaton science we offer  the  participants of the opportunity for another special feature on "Species introduction - a major topic in vegetation restoration" summarizing the most interesting results of the 7th conference held in Avignon, France 23-27 August 2010 in this field.

The twelve papers accepted in this special issue can be now seen in the"early View" Internet pages of the journal: clik here

Knowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems (KMAE)

"River ecological restoration across frontiers"

Knowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems (KMAE-Bulletin Français de la Pêche et de la Pisciculture since 1928) serves as a foundation for scientific advice across the broad spectrum of management and conservation issues related to freshwater ecosystems. The journal publishes articles, short communications, reviews, comments and replies that contribute to a scientific understanding of freshwater ecosystems and the impact of human activities upon these systems. Its scope includes economic, social, and public administration studies, in so far as they are directly concerned with the management of freshwater ecosystems (e.g. European Water Framework Directive, USA Clean Water Act, Canadian Water Quality Guidelines, …) and prove of general interest to freshwater specialists. Papers on insular freshwater ecosystems and on transitional waters or estuaries are welcome.

The five papers published in this special journal (vol. 402, 2011) can be now seen in the Internet pages of the journal clik here

ecologia mediterranea

ecologia mediterranea, the only International Journal of Mediterranean Ecology, publishes original research reports and syntheses in the fields of fundamental and applied ecology of Mediterranean areas, except for descriptive articles or articles about systematic. The editors of ecologia mediterranea invite original contributions in the fields of: bioclimatology, biogeography, conservation biology, restoration ecology, populations biology, genetic ecology, landscape ecology, community ecology, microbial ecology, vegetal and animal ecology, ecophysiology, palaeoecology, palaeoclimatology, except marine ecology. Symposium proceedings, review articles, methodological notes, book reviews, Ph. D. thesis abstracts and comments on recent papers in ecologia mediterranea are also published.

A special issue of ecologia mediterranea will be published after the 7th SER European Congress on ecological restoration based on contributions in the following topic : “Ecological restoration of Mediterranean ecosystemsspecificities, hopes and limits “.

Seven papers have been published in volume 37(2) in October 2011

Ecological Restoration

"Ecological Restoration is a forum for people interested in all areas of ecological restoration. We feature the technical and biological aspects of restoring landscapes, as well as emerging professional issues, the role of education, evolving theories of post-modern humans and their environment, land-use policy, the science of collaboration, and more. The quarterly publication offers original feature articles, short notes, and book reviews as well as abstracts of pertinent work published elsewhere."

The abstracts of the eight plenary sessions have been published in volume 28(2) pp 493-495
